Description
Ficus Lyrata ‘Bambino’
Ficus Lyrata, also known as Fiddle Leaf Fig, has large leathery leaves that resemble a fiddle. Native to Southern Asia and Australia, Ficus is a tropical plant and belongs to a genus of trees. If grown outdoors, this plant can reach up to 15m while 3m indoors.
Ficus Lyrata is a slow grower and it can take up to 15 years to reach maturity, however it might resemble a tree in just 3-4 years. In order to encourage branching the plant should be occasionally trimmed. New branches will emerge around the cut. Make sure to use gloves when cutting as the sap coming out of the plant is toxic.
Fiddle Leaf Fig likes high humidity and a bright spot. As most trees it doesn’t like changes in the environment, drafts or regular repotting. Ficus Lyrata should be allowed to become pot-bound.
This plant is about 35cm tall and comes in a 12cm pot. If you area ficus fan, we also have Ficus Petiolaris in the store.
